Switch Brilliant

...in every way

A bold statement for a small device; but I made a dual-mode; motion-sensing, touch-based, solid state relay light switch.  I think that is cool.

Specs:

It's a drop-in replacement for a North American light switch.  It can switch one primary and one secondary appliance up to 8-Amps from the same unit using 120 or 240vac main power.

Motion sensor is sensitive to about 30' line-of-site.

General Operation:

Always: Touching the plate will turn the lights on/off

In "Auto" Mode: Motion will turn the lights on, lack of motion for 15 minutes will turn off the light.

In "Dad" Mode: Like your Dad turning the lights out behind you.  The lights only turn on by touch, motion will never turn them on; but they will turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity.

To turn on the secondary device, hold the touch for 3 seconds.

The secondary device always turns off with the primary.

To toggle "Auto"/"Dad" mode hold the touch for 6 seconds until the lights flash.  The mode is stored in permanent memory and will not reset after power interruption.
